FAQs – Quality Control

1. How much does a quality inspection in China cost?

The cost varies depending on the product category, location of the factory, and the type of inspection required. On average, a standard pre-shipment inspection starts from $250 USD. For complex products or remote areas, prices may go up to $500 USD. At PGP Cargo, we always provide a clear and customized quote upfront.

2. Where do you operate?

We conduct product inspections in all major manufacturing hubs across mainland China, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Yiwu, and Ningbo. We also support inspections in Vietnam, Thailand, and other Southeast Asian countries through our trusted network.

3. Can you also handle the shipping after the inspection?

Yes. One of our key advantages is our fully integrated service. After inspection, we can consolidate your goods, manage documentation, book freight, and handle last-mile delivery. You don’t need to coordinate with multiple providers.

4. How quickly can you arrange an inspection?

In most cases, we can send an inspector to your supplier’s site within 48 to 72 hours of confirmation. For urgent requests, we do our best to offer same-day or next-day service depending on availability and location.

5. Will I receive a detailed inspection report?

Absolutely. You will receive a full report in PDF format that includes clear photos, product measurements, results of functional tests, packaging checks, and pass/fail status for each checkpoint. Reports are available within 24 hours after the inspection is completed.

6. What types of inspections do you offer?

We offer four main types of quality control inspections:

  • Initial Product Check (IPC)

  • During Production Inspection (DUPRO)

  • Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

  • Container Loading Supervision (CLS)

Each service is tailored to a different stage in the production process.

7. Why should I use a third-party inspection service?

Relying solely on your supplier for quality control can be risky. A third-party inspection provides independent verification that your order meets your quality standards before it’s too late to fix problems. It helps you avoid costly mistakes, delays, or returns.

8. What if defects are found during the inspection?

If issues are identified, you receive a detailed report that allows you to take corrective action before shipment. You can request the supplier to rework or replace the defective goods. We can also conduct a re-inspection to confirm the corrections.

9. Can I customize the inspection criteria?

Yes. We tailor each inspection to your specific requirements. You can share your checklist, product specs, visual samples, or special tolerances. Our team will incorporate those into the inspection plan to ensure alignment with your quality expectations.

10. Do you inspect all units in an order?

Inspections are usually done by sampling, following ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-2008 or your preferred method. This provides a statistically reliable overview. However, full inspections (100% of the units) are also available upon request, especially for high-value or critical items.

11. Are your inspectors local or outsourced?

Our inspectors are local professionals with experience in quality control, manufacturing, and engineering. They are full-time or long-term contracted experts who undergo continuous training. We never outsource to unverified freelancers.

12. What industries do you specialize in?

We inspect a wide variety of consumer and industrial products, including textiles, electronics, promotional items, homeware, tools, furniture, cosmetics, packaging materials, and more. If your product is made in China, chances are we’ve already inspected something similar.
